There are many benefits of joining our team in finding the next mersenne prime number.
The first is that you will help us increase higher in rank as the team with the most computing power.
Secondly is the fact that it would be really cool to be the next person to find a mersenne prime and it
would make your math teacher from high school proud of you.
To join our team in computing the next mersenne prime number you need to download the program Prime 95.
To do this go to http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/ and choose
the correct operating system that you are currently running. Once that is installed and you start the program
up you should see this.
If you do not already have a user name click the blue link to create one. That will open a browser and you
just need to follow the directions. Once you finish that you can have your computer start computing.
After that you can go onto http://www.mersenne.org and join the
Optimists Prime team. To do that go into your account on the side bar and click join team. The quickest way
to find the team would be to use the browser's find option (ctrl f) and search for Optimists Prime on the site.
Then click to join the team on the right side of the page and then your computer does the rest.
