Optimists Prime is a team that is calculating the next Mersenne Prime number using the program Prime95.
Currently our members consist of the Math Department at Stillwater Area High School and various other personal
computers around Stillwater, Minnesota. We are trying to add as many computers to our team as possible so that
our team will have the highest computing power in the whole Prime 95 program.
The way you can help out our team with computing the next Mersenne Prime number and let it run on your
computer whenever your computer is on.
Won't Prime95 slow my computer down a lot if I have it running the whole time?
No it won't. Prime95 is a very nice program in the sense that it will only use your computer's
proccessor if there is no other programs that are currently using it. So it does what it does only when
your computer is not busy at the time.
